About Lale Akhrass

Lale Akhrass shared a private psychotherapy practice in London, providing support to children, young persons, parents and adults since 2013.  Up until July 2014, she worked as a part-time psychotherapist at a secondary school in west London for seven years.  She has over fifteen years of experience working therapeutically with children, young people and adults with a complex range of needs and difficulties.  This includes working closely with Child Mental Health Services and Social Services.  She also works with parents and provides guidance to teachers and schools. In addition to this, she has chaired Terapia’s Ethics Committee for three years.

Lale Akhrass specialises in complex trauma resolution and recovery, and she gained a Certificate in Bodymind Psychotherapy for Shock Trauma and Developmental Trauma Resolution from Frances Ross, M.Ed RCC SEP MBACP.  Frances Ross is a specialist in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) resolution and recovery.  She trained for over five years with Frances, both in a group and individually, and she learnt her effective approach to trauma healing for either children or adults.  She continues to supervise Lale Akhrass’ trauma work.

She obtained her Diploma in Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy in 2009 from Terapia, and gained her United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) accreditation that same year.   She has a Master’s degree from Middlesex University in Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Counselling and a BA (Hons) degree in International Affairs and Languages from Lafayette College (Pennsylvania, USA).

Her previous career was in international finance and she worked at J.P. Morgan for ten years. She has lived in many countries and has travelled extensively. This means she has a broad knowledge of different cultures which she brings to her practice. She is married and has two children.
